Top 5 Most Hated Games (Sonic Boom, Fighter Within, Ride To Hell, Thor, The War Z)
Sometimes games don't have a good development or they aren't well received. But the games in this Top 5 list are just unplayable and are shunned by the gaming community. These games are HATED. People complain about them in forums, post negative reviews, and play them solely for the purpose of pointing out the negative aspects of the game.
Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric
Sonic Boom is considered one of the worst video games ever. The Sonic series used to be one of the most successful franchises, but recent games have not done well and this game exaggerrated an already developing problem. The game had some significant changes from the sonic series, and none of them were positive. They changed the art style of the characters, they significantly slowed down the pace, and the gameplay is too simplistic. On top of that there are tons of glitches. The game has little to no substance and is the worst selling Sonic game in history. As a result, Sega decided to cease game production on Sonic for consoles.
Fighter Within
Has the Kinect ever had respect of gamers? Kinect does have some fun elements for simple party games, but the accuracy is not there and there's no pointing to avoid using controllers. To make a fighting game on the Kinect is the most daring attempt, and Fighter Within proves how bad the idea was. The game and the controls just have no depth and response. There's no movement, no accuracy to the specific movements, and nothing worth playing. Fighter Within is another attempt to cash in on a game type that never had success or recognition in the first place. Let me give you a hint for the next game, gamers hate motion controls!
Thor: God Of Thunder
The recent Thor movie was a great success, but movie to game adaptations rarely work. And trust me, this one doesn't. There's nothing innovative about this game. The controls make the game unbareable and the camera constantly gets in the way. Every attack has lag and dodging is a pain. Nothing is accurate. You don't even get to fly as Thor. Considering the movie was so popular, fans are pissed that the game was not any good.
Ride To Hell Retribution
Ride To Hell Retribution is another game that tries to compete for the worst game ever title. It's just plain broken. The game was considered cancelled and removed from the developer's website, yet it still made it's way to release. It has a 19 on metacritic which is one of the lowest cumulative scores. It's so bad it was removed from Steam. Events in the story have no cohesion. It's a bunch of random events from turret shooting to quicktime events, then a vehicle section with no controls. Character model animations look like giraffes. The story goes no where and the dialogue is garbage.
The War Z
The War Z was not only hated, but also controversial. Two days after launch it was removed from the Steam store due to false advertising for not having several features listed in the store actually in the game. The executive producer publicly referred to spawn campers in his game as “faggots”. The game also came under fire because of the name. It sounded like both a ripoff of a similar game called DayZ and the movie World War Z. They were never able to trademark the game. The game also received criticism for having microtransactions on an already pay for play game. On top of all the backlash, the game and their website was hacked and tons of user information was stolen. This is another one of the most hated games released in recent years.
