Prototype: Invincibility Glitch (No Cheat Code)
Prototype (the first one - released in 2009) is one of those older classics that makes it absolutely thrilling to wreak havoc on a massive scale (in New York City no less). Although, sometimes it gets to be a bit of a chore, and you have to face hordes of enemies with tons of firepower.
I looked all over the Internet for an invincibility glitch, but for some reason I haven't seen this one anywhere. I discovered it myself by accident while playing through the story mode, so I wanted to share it.
In order for this to work, you have to have the Adrenaline Surge core ability. I started a New Game Plus so I have this and all my other abilities right form the beginning of the game. When your health is almost depleted it will trigger, making you invincible for a short period of time. But, you can take advantage of that and make it persistent. I annotated the video to show how this is done. If you can't see the annotations, this is a breakdown:
1) Start any mission (it has to be a mission specifically)
2) Get into a conflict and let the enemies damage you
3) When Adrenaline Surge activated, press Start on the controller immediately
4) Quit to Free Roam
Once you are invincible you can start any mission and it should still work. There are some missions on which it may disable itself, and you may notice that after a certain amount of time it stops working, but you can do this over and over to give yourself a little bit of an edge. It will not block any achievements and it helps a lot on the higher difficulties.
If you don't care about progressing through the game, you can wreak all the havoc you want and not worry about dying.
