Prototype Sound (Stuttering) Problem Bug Fix
Prototype's audio bugs haven't been fixed as there'll be no patch forthcoming from Radical. Here's the fix.
Radical Entertainment ceased to be a development studio in 2012.
"Actually if it doesn't work with 48 hz, you should try 44 hz." -- Steam user Jach.
Thanks man!
Addendum:
If you don't have Realtek installed on your PC, this works too (but involves more steps):
1. On the bottom right of the Windows 10 UI, on the taskbar, there should be a speaker icon.
2. Left click on that. Choose "Sound."
3. On the first tab, the one labeled as "Playback," you should see your active speakers. (Usually this is labeled as "Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio Default Device" but it could be different. To see if it's your active speaker, play something. Pick the Playback device that's showing activity (the one with the volume bar jumping up and down).)
4. Double click on that (or right click then choose "Properties"; either way works fine).
5. On the Speakers Properties tab that pops up, go to the "Advanced" tab. You should see the Default Format box like the one I showed in the video.
6. Follow what I outlined in the video. Audio should be fixed.
Don't forget to change your speakers' default format to your usual after playing the game.
