Comments:
I played this game as a kid, and stopped halfway through it, not getting past stage 12. 20 years later I still remember where I stuck. It was marked in my memory as a difficult game, with several parts that I had difficulty. Well, I started without any difficulty, and progressed fast. I thought it would become another game that I would beat quickly, but the difficulty started to appear later on. There were parts that I had to replay a few times to "memorize" paths and enemy sequences in order to pass. While playing, I got the impression that I had to play some stages a lot, but in fact I didn't take more than 1hr in the stages that presented the most difficulties. Part of this is because the levels are relatively short to get through. Overall, it was a good impression of the game. Various types of enemies, weapons, varied stages (including stages with time and to protect an NPC, things I hate, but that add variety to the game), some maps that are quite long, progressive difficulties in the stages, and hidden cheats. What I didn't like: the gameplay. It's really hard to use the aim. That's why the auto-aim option (and the triangle to center/correct the aim), without it the game would be unplayable. But even this option gets in the way sometimes. And I also negatively highlight the ending of this game. After chasing and fighting 2 big powerful bosses throughout the game, the 2 appear at the end, and it's super ridiculously easy to defeat them. And, even later, something appears that I still don't quite understand. That flying head and tentacles and shooting eyes... I think it must have something to do with the game's series, but there, from the game's history, I didn't understand anything, and I thought that just spoiled the ending. In addition to that, from what it seemed to me, the game expected the player to enter the area, and fight dodging the attacks, however, you can stay safe, from a distance, shooting. All in all, a disappointing end to an exciting game. I still had to stop at mission 23 and return only 1 week later. I was having a hard time on level 23, but as is often the case in games: stop, come back another day, and you'll probably pass the level easily. And so it was. I had good memories and expectations with the game, the beginning discouraged me, but the continuity of the game, especially playing the second half that I had never played, made me finish with a good impression of this game.
