PS1 Metal Gear Solid Walkthrough & Review 1998 - (PART1)
Metal Gear Solid is an action-adventure stealth video game developed and published by Konami for the PlayStation in 1998.
It was directed, produced, and written by Hideo Kojima, and follows the MSX2 video games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, which Kojima also worked on.
Players control Solid Snake, a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from FOXHOUND, a renegade special forces unit. Snake must liberate hostages and stop the terrorists from launching a nuclear strike. Cinematic cutscenes were rendered using the in-game engine and graphics, and voice acting is used throughout.
I purchased this game on the week of the title launch. I was totally hooked from the onset. It was the first game I played that actually felt like I was playing in a film. The story and gameplay was like no other game at the time and set a totally new benchmark for action adaventure video games. It was also a game that you would return back to. Infact I completed the game about 10 times way back in 1998. This is an all time classic game in gaming history.
So how does it feel to play this game again after 24 years? Well let's get started and find out.
