My ps2 portable has a 5" screen (I'm waiting for a screen protector to arrive) wired up for component, One USB port which i have a 64GB usb stick inserted with XEB+ on it.
One micro sd card slot behind the usb port which is wired to memory card port 2 as an MX4SIO.
Both the usb stick and micro sd card are formatted as exfat and with my setup i can play ps2 iso's directly from usb and/or micro sd (as fat32 or exfat), if i used that setup on a ps2 phat i'd also be able to play from a hdd which can also be formatted to exfat and soon it will have support for playing over lan/network share.
If i hold L1 i can skip booting into XEB+ and boot into FMCB which i can use to manage my files.
Memory card port 1 is wired up with an sd2psx which is what runs FMCB and also saves directly to sd card.
I also have wired back up the CR2032 so it keeps the date and time.
