[PS4] Dauntless: Reforged: Different but the same but also different? Part 2?
3Let's hope the game doesn't crash as soon as I spot other players again...
Hunting Grounds is a near endless way to fight behemoths and it is interesting to see 6 slayers going ham on a single monster. However, Dauntless Reforged isn't better if not worse than what the game previously was.
The new Slayer's Path, as the Devs say provides a more "straight forward path to leveling", but it turns the game into a mindless grind for weapon experience, merits, and other currencies required to increase power levels, instead of just hunting behemoths for materials to level the gear a player really wants.
Honestly, I feel like this game just doesn't provide an on par experience compared to the Monster Hunter series, which has been on recent holiday sales. If you're craving a giant monster slaying experience, consider what kind of time and money you are willing to invest. Yes this is a free to play game. But for a modest upfront cost on Monster Hunter, you would have a more polished overall gaming experience.
As Dauntless is an "ever evolving game", hopefully Phoenix Labs does more to make Dauntless a standout rather than a shallow Monster Hunter Clone.
