PS4 Game Capture Test with Hauppauge HD PVR Rocket on Windows Vista 1080P 60FPS
Here is a test I did recording video game footage from Call of Duty: Ghosts from my PS4 to the Hauppauge HD PVR Rocket to my laptop running Windows Vista Ultimate with 4GB of RAM and a 2.40 GHz processor. As you can see, the live gameplay footage recorded smoothly with no glitching or sync issues. This footage was recorded while I was playing.
Another method of recording is to use the PlayStation 4's built-in share feature and then playback that footage while plugging in the microphone to the HD PVR Rocket and commentating. I will show you an example of that method as well.
I am playing the DLC Multiplayer map Containment running a 10 minute Free-For-All (aka, FFA) play session with recruit bots. I am using the Remington R5 assault rifle. My final KD was 87-18.
I recorded at 1080p at 60 FPS, although YouTube only displays 30FPS. I set the game capture quality to 10 Mbps High which is adequate for YouTube and other social media presentation needs. I also did some game capturing with the Elgato Game Capture HD and will show that as well in another video.
Video gameplay footage recorded by me, phoenixgenesis, on my PS4 on October 28, 2014. (c) 2014 Phoenix Genesis / MBS LP - All Rights Reserved.
