PSVR Quick Look | Downward Spiral Hours Station (2018) Fun in Vr , but in Non-VR not so much
2And welcome back PSVR fans to yet another game , this time we try Downward Spiral Hours Station from 2018. A horror game in space with its main gimmick Zero Gravity and Hook Guns ... fun in PSVR when you 1:1 move your hands , grab to objects to move around , shoot at stuff and puzzle your way though this horror game ... no so much fun in the non-VR when both of your hands are glued to the screen and the whole moving\shooting aspect looses its charm ...
So what are the Plus and Minuses ...
In PSVR the resolution is 720p per eye , no AA , All effects LOW , in VR they partitioned each room giving you AWFUL Loads that take from 5sec to 10sec to 20 sec when you move from room to room ( well on pc the resolution is x4 bigger , AA , instant loads . etc) ... but you get 1:1 hand tracking , real motion in Zero-G and well this fun factor of floating and shooting.
In Non-VR PS4 mode you get all the bonuses of the PC version but you play only in 1080p , have AA , 10x better textures , blood , shadows aka all effects are set to ultra ... BUT your both hands are glued together making movement well ehm awkward and not pleasant...
So what about the game ... there is nothing more to say then its the same old horror space exploration puzzle game you get ... find keys , do riddles , shoot stuff ... but its main gimmick is Zero-G movement ... that well like mentioned before only works best (more like , its better presented) in VR...
