Whether it's justified or not, and more than any other country, Japan has the reputation for "being weird." There are a lot of strange games that have been released in the country over the decades, most of which never made it in the hands of curious gamers in other lands. Let's take a look at a few of these weird games, as well as what may take the cake for being the weirdest--Taito's 90s beat 'em up, PuLiRuLa.

Other games featured in this video are Konami's Ganbare Goemon! Uchuu Kaizoku Akogingu & Gokujou Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack (PS1), Victor's Keio Yuugekitai: Katsugekihen (Sega Saturn), Gungho Works' Rei Choaniki (PSP), Enix's Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun (Super Famicom), Bandai Namco's Katamari Tribute/Forever (PS3), Alchemist's Gal Gun (Xbox 360), and Capcom's Finder Love: Ver. Risa (PSP). Small clips were used from the show Japanorama (episodes "Kakkoii" and "Otaku"), the Minimoni music video "Aiin: Uta no Dance," an old commercial of energy drink Aranamin V featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Nagi Noda's short art film made for the 2004 Athens Olympics. All "background music," is audio recorded from the game itself, in addition to the games Suikoden (Konami, PS1) and Final Fantasy III (Squaresoft), and not from any external source, such as a CD or MP3.

Gameplay was captured using the Elgato Game Capture HD, and video/audio was edited using Sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite, Version 12.
