Welcome to RetroBreak! Over the past few weeks, I've had the pleasure of exploring the Logitech G Cloud. While they initially sent it to me for an official cloud gaming video, my real excitement was in trying out its capabilities with emulators. Today, I'm thrilled to share my experience with you!

The Logitech G Cloud runs on Android, which grants access to a plethora of emulators available on the Play Store and some unofficial sources. I downloaded several emulators, including ones with premium features, and spent time configuring each of them individually. While it was enjoyable, I found it a bit cumbersome to manage so many separate apps for different games.

Then, I remembered a friend mentioning something called Daijisho, a retro emulation operating system. I decided to give it a shot and set it as the default launcher. It turned out to be a fantastic idea! Daijisho streamlined my experience, providing a more organized setup. With countless options available, I scraped a vast game database and added thousands of titles from NES to PS2 and GameCube!

The best part about Daijisho was its automated emulator recommendations, which simplified setup considerably. However, some classic Android issues persisted, such as inconsistent on-screen controls, varying emulator performance, and different hotkeys for menus and settings. To address these challenges, I turned to Retroarch, a system I'd used in the past that allowed me to download and manage emulator cores within one program. This significantly reduced the clutter and improved the overall experience.

Tweaking settings and exploring RetroAchievements became my nightly routine, and I had a blast downloading numerous games to play around with.

But, I couldn't resist pushing the Logitech G Cloud to its limits. I tested various systems, including PSP, GameCube, and even Wii emulation. Surprisingly, PSP games ran flawlessly, boasting matching resolutions that made it the best way to play PSP games. The console's comfort and impressive battery life only added to the experience, making it a near-perfect handheld gaming device.

Moving on to PS2 emulation, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of certain titles like Burnout 2. However, more demanding games like Burnout 3 required some fine-tuning to achieve optimal results. Nonetheless, the overall experience was impressive, surpassing other handheld emulators I'd tried in the past.

GameCube presented a different challenge initially, with regular Dolphin emulation yielding low frame rates. Nevertheless, after some research, I discovered an Android-optimized version of Dolphin, and it completely blew me away! Games like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess ran flawlessly at a perfect 30fps, which I never thought possible on a handheld. Even some more challenging titles like Mario Sunshine and F-Zero performed admirably, pushing the system to its limits.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I even tried running a Switch game, Splatoon 2, on the G Cloud. While it was limited due to the SD card format's capacity, it was still a cool experience to witness the game in action on a handheld.

In conclusion, the Logitech G Cloud proved to be an exciting platform for emulators, offering a wide range of gaming experiences beyond my expectations. Whether you're into classic consoles or crave more demanding gaming sessions, the G Cloud impresses with its versatility and performance. For gaming enthusiasts looking to explore a vast library of retro and modern games, the Logitech G Cloud is a compelling choice.
