All they did was band-aid fix their weird hook. I'm really glad that they're at least willing to try different options, but what they should have done was start over and make the hook good:

1. Get rid of the alt-hook toggle concept, make it an on/off toggle only
2. Decide on only ONE physically intuitive hook behavior, that doesn't ignore rest of the movement physics
3. Quake 2 hook was shit too, sorry but it really was. It made strafe jumping redundant and the movement in that mod was a joke.
