QT30E - Jak X: Combat Racing - A PS2 Racing Game On PS4 With A Fun Story
0The newest video in the QT30E series is the #PS4 version of the #PS2 game Jak X: Combat Racing from Naughty Dog. The only game in the series that i have played was the #PSP Daxter game. So i went into this game not really knowing the characters or the world.
It did feel and look like a PS2 game but not really in a negative way. the use of a story to give a reason for these characters to be racing each other, and the characters themselves, help keep focus away from the graphics and more on the more detailed characters. When you're racing, then yes it does feel a bit more like a PS2. not just graphics, but also the controls. it felt that my car exploded too easily sometimes, that the controls were a little loose, and that the overall presentation of the races and cars felt constricted and narrow, whereas modern games take fuller advantage of a widescreen HD layout.
Overall it was fun to play. i didn't feel like i was missing out on who the characters were neither. the racing will take a little time to get used to, but that's often the case in racing games. so if, like me, you're in the mood for a racing game and have PlayStation Plus, i'd recommend downloading this game.
