🤔Question - Life Without JavaScript is Zero ? - Life of Graphic Designer!

I've just stumbled across your Youtube Channel and you had a very stark but useful tip for me - while I know HTML and CSS, I do not know JavaScript, and this is a HUGE stumbling block for me in my career.
I was wondering if you would be so very kind as to take a moment to read my email and perhaps offer some suggestion?
My original background is in Fine Art (I studied History of Art at Trinity College in Dublin) and went on to work as a Curator of Contemporary Art for about 9 or 10 years.
So while I have used a computer and been interested in the internet and web-design since I was a child (My first computer was a 386 running DOS 5.0!!) I only started to professionally work in the realm quite recently.
After moving out of Fine Art, I started to re-train in Digital Imaging - I completed a certificate in Digital Imaging with Photoshop, then a Diploma in Web Design and then a full Degree (Bachelor of Sciences) in Digital Design, Technology and Innovation - this one here - although at the time (2015) it was not fully online, we had on-site classes too.
Unbelievably, for a course that claims so much, it did not teach JavaScript AT ALL. I think there was one lecture on what it was, but they did not teach it to us!!!
Following that, in January 2016, I launched my own one-person Graphic and Web Design business (linked below) with the support of a Government Small Business Start-Up Plan. However, after two years, this support ended, and since January of this year I have been struggling very hard to make ends meet with just one or two clients remaining.
I can write a website from scratch, using HTML and CSS, as well as some JQuery Plugins, and I can use Wordpress, but -
I know that a huge problem is my lack of JavaScript - if I had this, I would feel far more confident in my own work, as well as in applying for Jobs outside of my own business. EVERY Web Designer job I look at needs at the very least JavaScript, and I completely understand why.
I am confident in HTML and CSS, as well as Illustrator and Photoshop, and I have a very good knowledge of design and imaging, but I know this isn't enough, and is the reason that I am trapped in a terrible rut at the moment.
So, I wonder if you could recommend some way for me to learn JavaScript that ideally is for free and that would give me the skills that I need? My business is not earning me anything at the moment, barely enough to keep it running and to eat.
In any case, I'd be so so very grateful for any advice or suggestions you might be able to offer, or if you could have a look at my site.
I'm sure you get many requests, but you just seemed so approachable on your YouTube Channel that I thought, hey why not try!!
Thanks Jimmy
