Verified working on Quest 3!
With QuestZDoom you can play Doom 1&2 Heretic, Hexen, Brutal Doom or Wolfenstein in glorious VR.
The included Launcher App makes downloading and combining mods easier than ever before!
QuestZDoom contains everything that you need to jump into action right now!
Note: All you need to play Brutal Doom is included!
How to install QuestZDoom?
Step 1: Setup Sidequest on your PC or mobile and open it.
Step 2: Search for QuestZDoom and click "Download app". Wait for sidequest to complete.
Step 3: Reboot your Quest.
Step 4: After that go to unknown sources and open the QuestZDoom LAUNCHER.
Attention: If it should hang while displaying "Updating QuestZDoom", just close it and start the LAUNCHER again, it will now work!
A lot of content is included for free download via the Launcher! Play Brutal Doom for free e.g.! Read the recommended section for instruction. Make sure you have Internet in order to download the content.
BE SURE TO START THE LAUNCHER AFTER INSTALL!
If it should hang while displaying "Updating QuestZDoom", just close it and start the launcher again, it will now work!
How to install original Doom engine games?
If you own original games (Doom, Doom 2, Ultimate Doom, Final Doom, Heretic, Hexen, Strife) you can play those with QuestZDoom.
Transfer the WAD files to your Quest in questzdoom/wads.
Note: The Doom 1 & 2 files are included in Doom 3 BFG and Doom Eternal!
Mod recommendation: Brutal Doom. All you need is available in the launcher!
Experience the original Doom maps, but turned up to 11 and with lots of gore - even without owning Doom, just by using FreeDoom + Brutal Doom & mods.
Instructions:
Start the QuestzDoom Launcher app
Make sure you got internet connection, so the launcher can download the content!
Go through the tabs and download ALL these mods:
FreeDoom Phase1 + Maps of Chaos + Brutal Doom + 3D Weapons Brutal Doom + HD Textures Light + Sounds Remastered + IDKFA OST
Now select ALL these mods in the EXACT order as above and hit "Go to Hell" to start!
