Quick Project Part 2 - SEGA Nomad Battery Mod - Testing - Retrofitting Modern Rechargeable Batteries
Final Part 2 video to show a little project I started. It involves retrofitting a Sega Nomad rechargeable battery pack with a modern lithium-ion unit. The modern batteries are a lot smaller, lighter and more efficient. And, in conjunction with the modern LCD screen I fitted to my Nomad, should give me upwards of 8hrs playtime!
Here I show the finished product and give it a quick test run.
I'm using an NP-F550 7.4v DC 2500mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable unit I bought from eBay along with the official rechargeable Nomad pack from Sega. I got the idea for this mod from the following tutorial...

I will however be doing things a little differently in my project and retaining the original red charge indicator LED and power jack.
