The menu music and the sound effects are a little "twangy" in this game.
~ Notes ~
A classic Shmup series and highly influential in the genre.
It has excellent visuals inspired by the works of "H. R. Giger", who worked on the movie "Alien".
"Dimensions EX" is basically a remastered collection of "R-Type 1 & R-Type 2".
When playing the game in real time, you can switch graphical styles.
Picking either the pixelated Arcade original look or a sleek modern HD look.
Traditionally, R-Type games use a checkpoint system when you die.
I hate checkpoints in Shoot 'Em Ups, but "Dimensions EX" includes a "Free Play" mode.
There is also a keybind that gives you a full weapons loadout,
but I opted to not use that in this playthrough.
There are other additions that are included with this version as well.
~ Gameplay ~
I've always sucked at R-Type games, hence why I'm using "Infinite Mode".
Sorry for my poor gameplay, I really do love this series despite its difficulty.
