Radio Commander playthrough: "Hearts and Minds" and "The Hill"
It's Memorial Day so let's do a playthrough of Radio Commander, one of the few Vietnam War video games I've come across, and happily I thought it was pretty good. Now some might wonder why playing a video game has anything to do with the revenant nature of Memorial Day. I believe video games are a mode of storytelling and artwork that when done properly can convey a lot about a particular subject; and this particular video game does it's best to educate the average player as to the history and nature of the Vietnam War and the suffering of those who fought it.
In Radio Commander: Vietnam, you take on the role of a company commander at headquarters, controlling units in the field solely through radio commands. Meanwhile, the game does a good job of developing characters and showcasing some of the problems and concerns experienced by servicemen in the Vietnam War. So let's play the first two missions, "Hearts and Minds" and "The Hill".
