Believe it or not, this is a chiptune! A REAL chiptune, using a real chip. No software emulated stuff.
I was inspired by the original Rainbow Factory, but I love the sound of classic FM synth chips, so I took it upon myself to reconstruct the song. This is the result.
The recording in this video is made and played on a Sound Blaster 16 CT2290. The synthesizer chip is a CT1747 OPL3 chip. No post processing, maximizer or EQ was added - this is exactly how it sounded on my Sound Blaster. The reverb, warping and everything else was done manually in the tracker (You can see instruments named "Echo" playing throughout).
The video is a bit out of sync with the audio, I know. I'm not so good with video capture. It looks (and sounds) a hundred times better on the real thing!
