Random Game Play: Canabalt on Steam
4OMFG IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD! The world is being invaded and its time for some ROOFTOP RUNNIN' AND JUMPIN'.
This game just came out on Steam for $2.99. While it is kind of like the flash game version, there are some interesting new things added. More music, a 2D/3D toggle to make things look spiffy... and some interesting obstacles. I find it worthy of the price.
All you need is to press that jump button to... jump. The longer its held down, the higher you go.
From what I can gather, these are the modes of play:
Origin: The complete deal. You encounter everything from the boxes and chairs that get in your way, to crumbling buildings, and big... giant... robot leg.
Bombardment: If you remember from the flash game, those bombs that will turn you into a fine red mist if you run into them, you will encounter these just about almost every or every other rooftop. Dodge!
Purity: No boxes, no bombs, seems like no obstacles at all. Just you and some solid rooftop running.
Fractured: So many buildings about to crumble and fall. Don't go down with them!
Box tripper: So many boxes..... so many.
Panic: Everything just gets faster right away.
Leap of Faith: All of the buildings are INVISIBLE. Use the birds to determine where to land and when to jump.
Invasion: Just about every few buildings is a giant robot leg ready to smash down. Just don't miss landing on it.
Defenestration: So many windows to jump through.
