Ranking Every Joker In Balatro (Tier List)
77Ever get a burst of unnecessary motivation when you can't sleep? It is a cosmic joke of the human hardware that I have no motivation to do deeply wanted goals but then I'm able to make this video effortlessly in a pre-bedtime disaster.
My tierlist for Balatro's currently available demo and ranking every joker in the game. This is a poker roguelike where you can use jokers as passive effects to boost hands and try to get high scores, you should probably know the base mechanics before watching.
After some thought, here are some that are probably likely to be closer to incorrect
Constellation - Maybe could be a BIT higher. I had basically zero good Constellation runs before filming this video, and the highroll of this is immense, I've got it up to X4 mult which is way way way strong. Still horrible to get lategame though.
Four Fingers - I just love this card and how unique it is, but if you look at it, a straight leveling up to a straight flush is default 30x3 to 100x8, +70 chips and +5 mult, and you need a specific hand. Meanwhile you can gain +10 mult unconditionally with some random good holo joker. IDK this really depends on how well straight flush scales...
Smeared Joker - The fact that you can make flush house normally, and then it doesn't take up a joker slot, that is a damper on Smeared Joker's existence. A "convert 3 cards to specific suit" gets you flush houses without this, and you honestly just don't need Smeared Joker to create flush houses.
Blackboard - You could really make an argument that 2x mult is so good you should drop what you're doing to play it. And I couldn't really disagree.
Ice Cream - I'm starting to see the value in 2x jokers a bit more, maybe it could go down a slight bit. It is so solid for me across this game, but sometimes its value is not 2x (mostly with leveled planets and flush houses). In that instance it's not as good, but its value is often in the 2x-3x range earlygame and isn't even horrible endgame.
