Detailed breakdown: Not long ago I upgraded from Mountain Lion to El Capitan due to additional software issues (Skype, etc.). The unfortunate result of that is my audio software failing to recognize the hardware required to run it.

In addition to that, I have had to scour the AVID website looking for a solution or an upgrade only to find that the version of Pro Tools I use is totally obsolete and that I have missed my chance to upgrade to one of the later versions (versions 9-11). My only choice would be shelling out cash for my own copy of PT12 or to rent my audio software.
Instead of dealing with an absurd business model, I searched for alternatives. Apparently Presonus doesn't screw me like AVID did.
