0It's Friday, and that means it's time to once again talk about a weekly board game! This time we are checking out Misty Mountain Gaming's Dice Around The World - Nordic set.
They initially set these dice as a Kickstarter, allowing the crowdfunding to check the interest, and quantity of dice manufactured. If you are interested in the Kickstarter, you can find the campaign here:

This was actually a gift that we received from a loved one. They specifically got us the Nordic set, due to our heritage and general interest in the Viking era of humanity. These dice were made with Black Labradorite. The Dice Around The World sets aimed to make dice and dice boxes that took into account materials that would have been important heritage wise to the specific style of the region they are based on.
Black Labradorite was viewed as mystical in the Nordic culture. It was associated with protection and transformation. That's probably why it would be great for Dungeons and Dragon dice! Additionally, the dark, iridescent, and shimmering qualities make the dice look amazing in it's use. The dice box is made from Oak, which is associated with Thor, and traditionally used in the Viking's ships and longhouses.
