Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is the first game in the franchise for the Playstation 5 and was one of the first games to make real use of the next-gen console's impressive power. With this title Insomniac games presented the full scope and scale of the most polished, well crafted, technically intricate Ratchet and Clank game yet. From a visual perspective alone the game is beyond impressive and packed full of every level of spectacle and glizy glamorous eye-candy and thrilling excitment anyone could ask of the series. But for a long time fan of this 20 year long franchise, as wowed as I was by the gorgeous graphics and effects, the explosions and flashy particle effects, I couldn't help but see the tired signs of aging of this much loved series beneath the fresh, shiny new face.
