Ratchet & Clank on PS2 Actually Sucks
190The Ratchet & Clank series is one I hold near and dear, but over the years, it's been harder and harder to keep up enthusiasm for the Lombax and his little robo-buddy. A once proud and unique sci-fi platformer-hybrid, the series has gradually diminished in terms of its charm and identity, until completely losing sight of the spark that once gave it meaning. In some ways, the Ratchet games that exist now are unfortunately polar opposites to what they once were.
With the release of Rift Apart fast approaching, this video will be the first in a sort of miniseries in which I look back at the Ratchet & Clank games up to this point, to determine where exactly the series started to lose its way. In this installment, we're going all the way back to the PS2. Because, truth is, even those classic games... actually suck. Or at least some of them do.
