In this early real time 3D action CRPG, players find themselves chasing a thief who has stolen their patron lord's holy symbol. In pursuit of this quest, they find themselves in the dark land of Barovia, surrounded by a wall of toxic mist and teeming with legions of undead. The players must catch the culprit, get the amulet, and then find a way out of this cursed land before they join the undead forever.
This game predates Menzoberranzan (definitely play this game first), but uses a very similar engine. It was not without problems, including somewhat slow movement and flawed combat wherein faster members of the party would have to wait for slower members to recover from their last attack in order for them to attack, leaving the player clicking furiously and unable to fight. Despite these flaws, it was well-received at the time, and it's still a decent game today, especially with so few video games based on Ravenloft. The CD-ROM version was fully voice acted, adding to the atmosphere of the game. However, in my opinion, where it really shines is the moody and atmospheric music, which I aim to make even better with my updates.
