Developed and published by Acclaim in 1999, it's awesome arcade racing hidden gem known as Re-Volt on the SEGA Dreamcast. It's also available for the PS1 (PlayStation 1), N64 (Nintendo 64), and PC.

It's vehicular combat racing in radio-controlled form around environments like museums, steamships, construction sites and supermarkets. The physics in the Dreamcast version of Re-Volt can be set in the 'Game Settings' under Options. Depending on the mode selected, they can alter the speed of all cars in a race and their physics. This in turn emulates a degree of difficulty in races.

The Dreamcast version in particular only has two physics modes which are Arcade and Simulation, the other versions of Re-Volt on the other hand have four mode settings (Simulation, Arcade, Console, and Junior RC).

The Dreamcast version has 28 cars with each having different performance specs (Weight, Acceleration, Grip, Transmission, and Speed), 14 tracks that can be played in both Mirrored & Reverse form, and even there's even a track editor.

Players on the Dreamcast version can race up to 11 other AI/CPU opponents on each track, but for whatever reason the game's default setting in the 'Game Settings' of the Options menu has it set at 7.

What's really interesting about Re-Volt is that there was even an release to arcades in 2004 which was done by Tsunami Visual Technologies. The arcade version of Re-Volt featured a few changes in gameplay and graphics in order to suit for coin-op use, most notably a countdown timer for the car & track selection menus and an mid-race checkpoint timer. The machines used a Microsoft Windows 98 computer and came in two cabinet versions: the TsuMo Standard Non-Motion Sit Down Re-Volt and a deluxe model. This version also featured additional tracks, among those the fan-made Venice by Gabor and a new track created by Kurt Arnlund, an ex-Tsunami employee.

Also don't forget about Re-Volt's kick-ass soundtrack that is definitely memorable.
