I beat both @RealCivilEngineerGaming and @Blitz . I also have checked multiple other youtuber's records and I have achieved faster speeds than all of them. The obvious fundamental requirement across all criteria is to keep wheels on the ground (LAND speed record).
We broke the land speed record in 3 criteria:
1. Any design can be used such as ones in which the Kerbal ejects after top speed and survives. No exploits. (4:33 we reach 949 M/S before flying off the cliff and ejecting).
2. The vessel must begin on the runway and slow down before the end of the runway with the Kerbal surviving in the vessel. No exploits. Vessel must be intact and recovered. (6:10 we reach 754 M/S before slowing down).
3. No rules other than the Kerbal must survive. (8:32 we reach 1149 M/S before flying off the cliff and ejecting).
