Read the following and answer questions
Fusion of haploid male and female gametes to form diploid zygote is called fertilisation. Male discharges semen into female's vagina during coitus and a single ejaculation contains about 300 million sperms. Sperms in female's genital tract are activated by secretions of female reproductive tract. Receptor sites on acrosome are exposed and they undergo acrosomal reaction. Plasma membrane of sperm and oocyte fuse and it forms fertilisation cone. After sperm entry, male and female pronuclei fuse together forming diploid zygote.
