Rebirth | Final Fantasy XIII (13) 100% Walkthrough "40/64" (No Commentary)
In this part, we explore Vanille and Fang's home, Oerba, and complete the Cie'th Mission we started at the end of the last video. We then encounter Vanille's friend Bhakti, and find five missing parts to repair it. (Note: Repairing Bhakti comes with a few bonuses. If we walk over 10,000 steps on Gran Pulse we'll receive a reward. Additionally, if we get Treasure Hunter by holding every piece of Equipment (Weapons and Accessories) in our Inventory at some point, we'll receive another reward. I will not be doing the latter!)
Once we reach the end of the bridge at the far end of Oerba, we do a bit more Weapon Upgrading. We use a Uraninite to upgrade Lightning's Hauteclaire+ into Durandal, then we use 36 Sturdy Bones and 3 Ultracompact Reactors to upgrade the Durandal to the Durandal* (Items will need to be purchased from the Save Station Shops, see the video for details on which). Next we upgrade Sazh's Pleiades Hi-Powers by using 36 Sturdy Bones and 17 Superconductors to create Pleiades Hi-Powers*, we then further upgrade them with a Perovskite to create the Hyades Magnums, lastly we upgrade them further with 36 Sturdy Bones and 3 Ultracompact Reactors to create the Hyades Magnums Lvl58, and 36 Sturdy Bones and 29 Superconductors to make the Hyades Magnums*. Finally we upgrade Fang's Taming Pole with 36 Sturdy Bones and 33 Superconductors to create the Taming Pole*, we then use a Uraninite on it to create the Venus Gospel. Lastly, we use 36 Sturdy Bones and 3 Ultracompact Reactors to create the Venus Gospel*. The final upgrades we make are with Black Belts to increase Physical Resistance, and Rune Bracelets to increase Magical Resistance as 9 of each of these will be needed in future Cie'th Missions to survive. Each of these defensive items require 36 Sturdy Bones and 2 Superconductors to become their "*" forms.
Once we finish our upgrades, we equip Lightning, Fang, and Sazh with their new weapons and march forward to the end of the bridge to encounter and battle Barthandelus a second time. After defeating him, he leaves us an Airship we can use to return to Cocoon, but we have some training to do first and we will ignore it for now.
