November – Rokugō rebellion: More than 1,000 rōnin rebel in support of their exiled lord, Onodera Yoshimichi, in Japan
May 19 – The King's Men, a group of English professional actors composed primarily of former members of the Lord Chamberlain's Men, is granted its royal patent by King James.
