Another contest entry! For this round, I was assigned Ballade’s theme from Mega Man 10. I had an orchestral take of King Knight in my head ever since my last entry. The original idea was the A section of King Knight’s theme where the lower instruments lead, but in 7/4. After jotting that down as well as the ending, every single other idea I had was in 6/4, so I went ahead and switched those sections over. The other big idea I had was to try and tell a little story of a how a kingdom was in ruin by a terrible king, and the rightful heir to the throne rose up and reclaimed his spot to restore the kingdom. That idea lead to the little music box intro to set up the main motif. Anywho, had a pretty tight schedule on this one, and I’m pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
