Ahh, the Turbo Tunnel. A level that's cemented in gaming history as difficulty manifested in video game form. I never played the original Battletoads, but I did play the SNES Battlemaniacs version, which has a Turbo Tunnel level similar enough to the original's. Not a single person in my family could get past this level. As a kid seeing how nobody could get past this level, I used to think there were no more levels after this. Turbo Tunnel was the last level, and if there were any more levels, they were unfinished and glitchy. Because nobody would get past the Turbo Tunnel! My brother and I did finally beat the game (using an emulator and save states, though...), so it was very surreal seeing levels past the Turbo Tunnel.
As for the cover itself, I had difficulty in trying to figure out how to approach this. When watching some perfect runs, I thought, “Hey, what if the music changed after every check point?” So, every time a check point is passed in the video, the song changes and adds/removes elements. Pretty neat! Other than that, I kept the feel largely the same. This was requested by brother, so here you go, bro! I'll be on some other requests next time, should be a lot calmer! :)
