Reiner Knizia Discusses Medici, Board Game Design, And Working With Major IP
Last week Andrew Stretch spoke with Reiner Knizia about the rerelease of Medici with Steamforged Games but also had a grander conversation about board game design, where his ideas come from, and how designing a game for a major IP is different.
Reiner Knizia is a game designer with a PhD in mathematics. Having first published Gold Digger and Desperados in 1990 he has since designed 800+ board games of his own design as well as games with global IP such as Game of Thrones, The Simpsons, and The Lord of the Rings.
