This was the first time i have walked in the Valley of Desolation in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This walk is just above the walk around Strid woods in Bolton Abbey. I was pleasantly suprised at the end of this walk! I do wonder how this lovely little area got name, the valley of desolation?
