Reliance Retail Continues With Its Acquisition Spree
Reliance Retail has so far spent close to $1.1 billion in acquisitions, and the biggest of them was the Rs 2,850 crore acquisition of Metro Cash and Carry. The acquisition could boost its last mile reach by leveraging the relationship with Kirana stores.
Recently, the retail arm of RIL acquired Just Dial, Dunzo, Hamleys, Netmeds, Urban Ladder – Pepperfry, Purple Panda Fashions – Clovia, Campa Cola and Sosyo – soft drink brands.
Recently the company also launched its FMCG brand – Independence – on pilot basis in Gujarat. It aims to provide – edible oil, grains and pulses, biscuits, edible oil, packaged atta, etc. – at affordable prices.
