Remnant 2 (PS5) - Apocalypse Difficulty, Solo Carry Annihilation
Took an hour to beat a 3-player scaled Annihilation by using a combination between Challenger, Handler, and Invader.
Also swapping out a few amulets and rings here and there.
Wanted to find the best build to carry a full team of randoms on Apocalypse. I believe self-revive is needed for consistency due to lag.
The most difficulty part is when Annihilation summons the massive amount of orbs and this can easily kill you if you don't destroy most of them. Somehow this attack goes through all self-revive mechanic, unsure if it is intended.
The general guideline to be more defensive seems to be Leto set or a combination of other armor sets with Leto paired with the following traits seems to work the best:
- Fortify
- Regrowth
- Strongback (-15 encumbrance)
- Triage
- Vigor
- Barkskin
As for Amulets, it seems to be Brewmaster's Cork which I don't have yet. I'm using Participation Medal as a replacement until I find that, it still seems to work decently.
For Rings, if you want to survive better it is recommended that you use the following:
- Dead King's Memento (+15 HP)
- Ring of the Robust (+10 HP, +20 Armor)
- Seal of the Empress (+20 HP, -5 Stamina)
4th Ring can be a preference of what you want, but the above 3 seems to provide the most efficient health pool.
You also want Prime Archetype as Medic paired with Resonating Heart to provide constant healing, however, I personally prefer Challenger as it provides me with another chance if I die.
I left the first part in to prove Black Cat Band and Die Hard (Challenger's Prime Perk) does not work when you have latency issues. However, it seems that if you take a single big hit it will activate but not multiple hits in succession.
If you have better build ideas for carrying randoms, feel free to comment below!
P.S. You certainly can have a damage build to carry randoms on Apocalypse, but keep in mind that there will always be latency issues and perfect timing your dodges will not always work. Reviving them without some kind of defense or stagger setup is super dangerous and can easily kill you.
