Resident Evil 4 Remake Part 35. Puzzle time. (Hardcore Separate Ways DLC Blind)
0Part Synopsis: Back at the castle, Luis tells Ada he must run an errand before obtaining the amber. Upset over this, Luis elaborates it involves obtaining a suppressant to the infection that Leon and Ashley are suffering with. He also points out Ada is infected as well. Having a lab here, the two descend towards it.
Dealing with a small group of cultists, the room is already engulfed. Luis rushes inside, only to get overcome by smoke and needing to be saved by Ada. A new plan is made to simply make more of the substance. Upstairs again, Luis figures out what's needed. He hands over a list of the three required ingredients before the two split up. First up is a Bindary to locate Red Ink. A few hostiles are here as well.
Having to solve a puzzle involving stone slabs, a second one is immediately afterwards. Overthinking the complexity of shooting shields in a certain order adds to the length of being stuck here. After getting the ink, Ada makes her presence known to Leon. A third challenge ends up resulting in the second death from utter confusion and sudden interruption of an unknown element.
Playthrough Information: Regarding Separate Ways, I played the original version of this DLC on the PS2 version as it wasn't on the GameCube. I expect a lot of differences from the RE 4 Remake edition in comparison, although any similarities to the first release I will be familiar with. I'm starting on Hardcore difficulty, hoping to not get as frustrated in comparison to the Main Story. No guarantees, though. All uploads will feature webcam usage, full commentary and shot in 1080p resolution. This is made for entertainment purposes. Not meant to showcase all achievements, secrets or be a guide to anything. It will be blind. Gameplay shown on a digital version on PS5.
Separate Ways DLC: Prior to Leon's arrival, Ada frees Luis from Salazar's dungeon so he can procure a vial of Plagas amber he had hidden for her, but gets infected with a unique Plagas parasite by one of Salazar's enforcers, Pesanta. While attempting to rendezvous with Luis and evading Pesanta, Ada covertly assists Leon in his fight against Los Illuminados. As her infection grows worse, Ada's increasingly impatient boss, Albert Wesker (Craig Burnatowski), periodically checks in on her. She eventually reunites with Luis, who realizes she is infected and convinces her to collect ingredients for a suppressant to slow her, Leon, and Ashley's infections. Complicating matters, Ada's condition worsens in the amber's presence, forcing the pair to separate once more until her suppressant takes hold. While Luis helps Leon and Ashley, Ada kills Pesanta, which causes her to vomit her parasite. After killing it, she tries to find Luis again, only to learn Krauser killed him for the amber.
Ada helps Leon reach Los Illuminados's island facility before secretly placing a tracker on him and breaking off to find Krauser. She witnesses him give the amber to Saddler before Wesker provides a device to help her bypass the facility's security. Upon learning Wesker also intends to detonate the island, regardless of Ashley's survival, Ada uses Luis's files to sabotage the bombs before using Leon's tracker to locate Saddler. She rescues Leon and Ashley and defeats Saddler, but he catches her off-guard and captures her. Leon eventually rescues Ada, who joins him in killing Saddler before retrieving the amber. As she leaves, she contacts Wesker to inquire about his intentions for the amber. When he promises a new dawn will break at the cost of billions of casualties, a disgusted Ada forces her pilot to change course.
Wesker learns of Ada's betrayal and that the island is still intact due to the bombs not detonating correctly. Having obtained Krauser's body, an undeterred Wesker proclaims the "age of man" will soon end, leading to Resident Evil 5.
