The mod author just patched a jump to forcefully enable it. The mod is designed for DirectX 11 only, so this won’t work with the Directx 12 version of the game.
Installing the mod is easy, simply download it from the internet, and put the file in the x64 folder with the directx11 executable. Launch the game and make sure Ambient Occlusion is enabled in your graphics settings.
