So I posted the last episode of this series in August 2016 and the episode before that was 2015 I think, but............I am going to finish this.
Basically back in 2015 I decided to restore and mod my Epiphone Les Paul Standard. This guitar was my 2nd ever guitar and has been with me through the majority of my musical journey including every band I've ever been in, every gig I've ever played (except one where I was the drummer and the last gig I played it was a backup, but it was on stage with me it just didn't get used)

So over the years, it has taken its share of use and abuse and pretty much didn't work anymore.

So I thought I would restore it to its former glory and also mod it and improve it.

So I set about changing the pickups to Irongear Hot Slag & Rolling Mill, which are very similar to a Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz set.
I moved the toggle switch in place of one of the pots and changed the configuration to 2 volumes and 1 tone. I also added a kill switch in place of the original toggle switch.
I then sanded down the body to get rid of the glossy, plasticky look that solid color Epiphone's can have.

So that kinda took us to episode 3, but then a lost episode happened because I spent many hours doing this work and it turned out, the wiring didn't work and no one could figure out why.
Each component worked individually and even when putting them together, but once they were all added together it didn't work. So eventually I ripped the components out of a broken Schecter as it had the config I wanted and it worked straight away and was already pre-wired, bonus.

So I had to scrap that episode. I then made an update video about it basically recapping my journey and then I completely forgot about it. I got really busy with other projects such as University and my band, Back To Square One.
I didn't realize it had been almost 2 years since the last episode and the other day I just randomly grabbed it out of the rack and played it and instantly fell in love with it all over again.
So I decided, let's finish this project and let's make this a promonent guitar on the channel and that is what I am going to do.
So this video is more of an update basically recapping this, then I am going to get the rest of the parts I need, fit all of them in the video, do the finishing touches and it is DONE!!!

But.....since this project was a clusterf**k and took WAY to long to finish. I am likely going to find another guitar and do a similar thing in another series.

And I am actually really enjoying tinkering with the guitar so I might end up trying to learn a lot more about mods and repair and you may see more stuff like this on the channel in the future.

Anyway, that's where I'm at so far with the project, I can't wait to finish it.
