Retro Gaming Capture Test 51 Part 1 | Raspberry Pi5 with Recalbox Experimental
More testing of gaming rigs I am building, where I would like each device to be played very quickly without any wiring and also to be able to capture footage where possible with just a few switches turned on. The point of these videos is to see how this type of set up can be done with different devices and maybe help anyone else trying to do a similar thing with a mix of old and new hardware.
Although my collection of gaming devices is large and varied, I have never purchased a Single Board Computer. So with the release of the Raspberry Pi5 recently, I decided to make this one my first. After a brief look at the Raspberry Pi OS, I decided to also look at gaming on the device. So far I assume it is limited as the SBC is new, but I expect it to grow very quickly. A quick look at what is on offer on the Pi Imager and the only one I saw for the Pi5 appears to be an experimental version of Recalbox. I have seen other emulators running on another video that are not available on here, but this is the first time I have even touched a Pi, and is a quick first look, and it's very likely I am missing something. So we take a quick look at what comes as standard on the System with another SD card, and give a few included games a test. More to come later from this device, once I progress and more is available.
