[Synopsis]
This video shows the difference between using emulators on a computer vs. running it on Retropie with a Raspberry Pi single board computer.
There are obvious advantages for running emulators on Retropie vs. using it on a computer, like having a user friendly menu. Retropie is a multi emulator platform, but you also have this on the computer with Retroarch. Retroarch isn't as user friendly as Retropie. Most people have their desktop computers connected to 20 to 24" LCD monitors. The advantage of a single board computer, like a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ or a Raspberry Pi 4 is that you can easy hook it up to a large OLED or LCD television set. Playing retro games on a television set with a controller feels more retro than playing it on a computer on a desk.
In addition to all these factors, emulators are optimized to run better on Retropie as you can see in this video.
