------
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a first-person action adventure game, developed by Retro Studios for the Nintendo GameCube in 2004 (2005 in Japan).
You reprise the role of the intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran, as you are called upon to investigate the rogue planet Aether, which is in the midst of an interdimensional war as the forces of Light and Dark fight to wrest control of the planet.
It sold over a million copies over its lifetime, which in isolation is a good result, but compared to Prime's own tremendous success, it didn't seem very impressive at all. Unfortunate, given the game was rated almost as highly as Prime.
Nonetheless, was Metroid Prime 2: Echoes a sequel worthy of the name? Just how bad is the Boost Ball Guardian? And - what's most important to us - is it worth importing?
