RETROFLAG GPi CASE 2 Setup (Recalbox) & Gameplay (PS1)
In this video, I'm sharing a quick setup of my RETROFLAG GPi CASE 2 (with CM4), showcasing how to mount the CM4 into the case, installing Recalbox, with a short PS1 gameplay. I’m using CHD files for my PS1 roms. This chipset can play up to PS1/PSP/Dreamcast/N64 (the easy/2D titles).
Recalbox quick setup steps:
• Insert the micro-SD card in your PC (if it’s a brand-new micro-SD card, no need to format it, if it’s a used micro-SD card, you need to format it using ‘SD Card Formatter’)
• Download the Recalbox CM4 (9.2.3-Pulstar) image here: https://www.recalbox.com/download/stable/rpi/cm4/alternative/
• Unzip/extract the downloaded zip file to get the disk image file, then flash/copy/write it onto the micro-SD card using Rufus or balenaEtcher (I use Rufus)
• Take the micro-SD card out (from your PC), insert it back into your device (as shown in the video), boot up/turn on your device (to extend the file partition), the first boot will take some time, after a couple of screens, Recalbox will boot up, showing you how to copy your files (roms & bios)
• Shut the device down, take the micro-SD card out, once you put the micro-SD card back into your PC, you will see a ‘Share’ partition, inside that partition, you will find the ‘roms’ and ‘bios’ folders where you can copy your game roms & bios files
• After adding your roms & bios, insert the micro-SD card back into your device, boot up, and you’ll have Recalbox running and ready to use/start playing
• To add your box art, you can use Scarper (you need to set up a Screen Scraper account)
• Hotkeys: Retroflag button (above the ‘start’ button) + B brings the RetroArch menu (save/load/close)
