Every 100000 points up to 16 health you get some health upgrade. If you are able to kill something around the same time your health goes to zero, and at the same time break that health upgrade barrier it can save your life from dying. Looking at the health values your health does actually go to 0, then it is increased from the health upgrade.

Not really relevant, but in memory the point score removes the 0 at the end interestingly enough. So an extra 0 is just for show to make the score look more impressive.
