Reworked Maxwell vs Bee Queen [Outdated]
282Game Update 532704 & 532705 11/30/2022:
- Fixed bug with Bee Queen’s pathfinding failing when over the ocean or boats.
New Maxwell has some neat stuff that you can pull off with his spells. One of them is beat Bee Queen while taking little damage.
I'd say it uses less resources than cheesing the fight with Wendy, but it requires way more skill.
I use Tier 2 Magic equipment since it's gear that most experienced players can reasonably acquire during early game (first Autumn). Fight is much more forgiving if you've rushed the ruins and got Thulecit gear which experienced players should also be able to get during early game, albeit with more effort.
One of the problems in Phase III and IV is that Bee Queen will kite your Duelists far away from her trapped grumbles which results in your Duelists doing way less damage and her spawning more grumbles which can really mess up the fight. To stop that from happening, I lead her over water in Phase III and then have Duelists fight her. Bee Queen doesn't kite enemies if she is hovering above water, this works for Wendy and it apparently works really well for Maxwell too.
Got inspired to try this out when I saw this video from Arcwell, but the fights are harder since it seemed like Shadow Prison used to work for a lot longer when Maxwell's rework was in beta.
