Trivia :
- Used since the very start of F1 history in 1950, it has hosted 68 Grand Prix, with only Monza having hosted more F1 races.
- Its narrow layout means overtaking is near impossible, so starting from pole position is crucial !
- In 1988 Senna took pole position with a time of 1'23''998, 1.4 seconds ahead of team-mate Prost ! He then proceeded to crush the opposition in the race, before crashing out on lap 66, while pushing too hard when the race was clearly in the bag..
- Senna holds the record for number of wins at Monaco, with 6 in total (1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1992 and 1993). He would have won in 1984 too had the race not been stopped due to heavy rain..
