If you have a VR-ready computer, but no VR headset, you should give Riftcat VRidge a try! As long as you have a VR-capable smartphone and some sort of a Google Cardboard to strap the phone to you head, you will be able to play many Oculus and SteamVR games.

This system is not without its bugs, and it is still in beta. Not to mention if you really want to play a particular game, you might spend quite some time setting everything up. However, it works for most games I tried so far, and quite well at that!

When it works, it works GREAT! Head tracking is instant and provides a good VR experience. Great for a free option. Now you don't have to wait before the dedicated VR headset of your choice will actually ship out :D.
