Wow, beautiful! The music in this game is especially amazing. Story thoughts below, spoilers obviously.

Yeah, I almost cried lol. I started to pick up on the "stages of grief" theme during the Depression stage, but I didn't know where the other levels fit in other than the first one possibly being Denial. I always assumed the boy was the one grieving though, so when it turned out to be the father, that got me good. I think that Spirit Fox represents the mother who had died already, because in Keyhole 2 it looks like she is scattering into red leaves like the Fox does. It makes sense that this would be a constant helpful character since the world represents the father's feelings ("At least he's with his mother in heaven"), until the Depression stage where even that consolation dies. And I finally understand why there were so many keyhole shapes everywhere; for the father, going into his son's room means finally accepting that he's just not there anymore I guess.

And I don't think this ending rules out the boy's experiences being "real". It actually brings up an interesting/disturbing idea for an afterlife that I've never seen before: the dead person's environment being determined by the mental state of those still alive. What if the loved one you lost was literally stuck in a place like the Depression level until you let go? And if you never let go, they eventually lose all hope too and turn into a Shade? Even if it is all just symbolic and there is no supernatural element in the story, it really drives home the importance of acceptance for the sake of your loved one's memory and yourself.

I will be going back to collect the rest of the Toys and such, so more videos coming up!
