Rime Revenge! Part #1: Algae Terrarium Tricks (ONI: Spaced Out!)
17In this VOD of my re-attempt at a Rime run, we get the basics set up such as smart Coal power and plumbed washrooms. We also decide to set up some Algae Terrariums for once. While these buildings are normally quite bad, as they aren't much more efficient than Oxygen Diffusers and require a lot of duplicant labour and liquid management, they are useful on Rime specifically as the Polluted Water always comes out at 30° C! This means we can use Algae Terrariums to melt Ice and overall access more Water than we would otherwise have early on. I'm not sure whether it's worth it but it's an interesting quirk of the game. Cycles 1-20 are in this video.
The overall aim of the run is to use our improved game knowledge to get further into the late-game on a Classic-style run than ever before, without any major gimmicks. Ideally, we would like to complete the three big story traits that we haven't gotten around to doing yet. I also want to make sure we use all 15 Magma Volcanoes on the map at some point this time! Youtube decided we should play on a map with Volcanoes, so here we are.
